I see so many health stores selling alkaline water, so i did my search on it to get some smart answers on it-
The “alkaline” in alkaline water refers to its pH level. The pH level is a number that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is on a scale of 0-14. For example, something with a pH of 1 would be very acidic, and something with a pH of 13 would be very alkaline.Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular drinking water.
MYTH GOING AROUND-alkaline water will balance your pH ,fact is that your body balances pH on its own, maintaining especially tight control over the pH of the blood.Very little quality research has been done on the benefits of alkaline water. Alkaline water may be useful in treating acid reflux disease (Campagnolo et al. 2014), and that mineral water with higher pH can contribute important minerals like calcium and magnesium to the diet (Galan et al. 2002).
SMART BET-regular water is best for most people as there is no scientific evidence that fully verifies the claims made by alkaline water proponents. Moreover naturally alkaline water has a chemical makeup that differs significantly from artificially alkaline water.Spring water with naturally occurring minerals seems to be the healthiest type of alkaline water source which has PH of 8-8.5.
But until we learn more, I suggest you save your money stick to filtered tap water most of the time, till we have enough substantial studies conducting benefits of alkaline water.
